They work tirelessly in Central Africa to protect the world's last remaining gorillas and to promote sustainable livelihoods for local people, such as training over 15,000 farmers in organic agriculture to reduce their reliance on the gorilla habitat. How cool is that!

The work they do is amazin' and we love raisin' money for 'em!

THE GORILLA ORGANIZATION

The Gorilla Organization
The Gorilla Organization works internationally to protect the world’s last remaining gorillas in their natural habitat in central Africa.

Our award winning, community-based approach to conservation promotes sustainable livelihoods, nurtures young conservationists of the future and empowers local people to tackle the main threats to the gorillas’ survival. Threats which could wipe out the gorilla population in decades if left unchecked.

In the past few years The Gorilla Organization has:
  1. Planted more than 2 million trees to protect and re-forest the gorilla habitat
  2. Introduced fuel-efficient stoves that use up to 75% less firewood and charcoal from the gorilla forest
  3. Helped indigenous Batwa pygmies develop sustainable livelihoods outside the gorilla habitat
  4. Set up income generating projects for beekeepers and livestock breeders
  5. Saved an isolated population of gorillas in eastern Congo from almost certain extinction
  6. Find Out More

  1. Trained more than 15,000 local farmers in sustainable organic agriculture to dramatically reduce reliance on the gorilla habitat for farmland and resources
  2. Set up more than 400 wildlife clubs in African schools and educated thousands more people through our environment radio programme Cosmos Notre Monde
  3. Helped more than 2,000 people set up eco-friendly businesses through micro-finance
  4. Supported wildlife rangers through more than 15 years of war in central Africa

WOW! This years Great Gorilla Run was incredible and over £150,000 has been raised already. GORILLA BOOGERS BOOGIE

We love gorillas. We love kids too!

This year we have donated £40,000 to The Gorilla Organization to help fund grass-roots projects such as setting up wildlife clubs in over 400 African schools and educating thousands more children through The Gorilla Organizations environment radio programme Cosmos Notre Monde.

Next year we are holding our very first Gorilla Boogers Boogie at ZSL London Zoo – a tea party and disco for kids who would not normally get a chance to go to the zoo with guest appearances from celebrities and entertainers, it will be a fantastic day out and we are really looking forward to it.
